OK, so if you were following what I’ve been talking about, you might have already done your keyword research, and paid for a domain name and hosting through Host Gator, and taken advantage of their support crew to help with any questions you have on setting up a WordPress website.
It’s all fairly simple, I use Fanastico Deluxe as my FTP client, and it’s on the Host Gator control panel. You just fill out the form, and then you have your WordPress admin panel.
This one allows you to put a description and tags on each post and page, among other things. In the setting for that one, you will see a page that lets you change the way your default titles come out.
Fill out your home page title, keywords and description, and change the post title format to %post_title%, the page title to %page_title%, and the category title to %category_title%.
This will mean that you don’t have the site title appearing in the title of those posts and pages.

Off Page SEO Tips
It depends on how hard it is to compete for a keyword as to how many back links you should try to make to your site. I would suggest doing a few things a day, on an ongoing basis.
To start with, you will want to get your site indexed by Google, and to do that, I make social bookmarking back links from sites like Digg, Delicious, Bebo, Google Buzz, and Linked In, using a Firefox browser add-on called Add This.
I also try to ping my site on a pinging tool like Ping-o-Matic, submit to heaps of search engines with a tool like Submit Express, and then I start writing articles, and posting my signature in forums.
My favorite article writing sites are HubPages, Squidoo, Ezine, Factoidz, and Triond, although there are hundreds of different ones that will suffice.
Make social bookmarking back links to the articles once you’ve written them, and as time goes on, remember to keep making back links to them from other articles if you can.
Try signing up to webmaster forums like Digital Point, Warrior Forum, and Webmaster Forums, which allow you to post do follow links in your signature.
Follow the rules, and don’t spam, but stay relevant to the discussion in your posts, and learn.
Google likes to see pages that have a growing number of back links to them over time, and that are updated every now and then.
The page rank of the back links to your site rubs off on you, and there are so many algorithms, that I can’t explain much more than that.
You have to get as many relevant, quality sites as you can linking to you from relevant link text, and try to mix up the link text a little, to include related searches you want to compete for.
